The original part of the house is made entirely of wood and was built in 1909 for the local shire clerk. An extension was added to the back in the 1970s. I imagine the extension was very ‘modern’ when it was added, but it still makes an impact, with high red cedar ceilings and the northern and eastern walls consisting entirely of glass.
Needless to say, such an old house constructed of wood is going to come with some problems. Termites, sagging floors and draftiness are but three of these.
